Harmony Korine's Gucci Pre-Fall 2019 Lookbook Is Packed With Snacks & Tourists
The famed director & photographer took to Rome to capture Alessandro Michele’s latest.
Gucci recruits legendary creative Harmony Korine to shoot its Pre-Fall 2019 collection, which builds upon the opulent stylings that creative director Alessandro Michele has hung his hat upon. Shot in the archaeological parks of Herculaneum and Pompeii, the lookbook honors the house’s heritage as much as it showcases the clothes.
The womenswear offerings range from logo-splattered suits to branded berets to pink quilted jackets, with a foot firmly planted in the realm of kitsch, as usual. Patterns collide in nearly every look, with shawls, skirts, sweaters and shirts all sporting rich color and luxurious textiles like silk and velvet. The proceedings remain lighthearted thanks to the tourists who get in on the snapshot action, as well as the hearty snacks that the models chow down on throughout.
Expect the items to arrive at Gucci stores next year.
Most recently Gucci introduced several new accessories, including a “feline head” sterling silver bracelet and more graphic Rhyton runners.
