'God of War' Wins Game of the Year at TGA 2018
As ‘Red Dead Redemption’ rode off with four awards.
Sony Santa Monica’s God of War has won Game of the Year at this year’s The Game Awards ceremony. The acclaimed Norse adventure showcasing Greek god Kratos stepping into a new mythos also walked away with awards for Best Direction and Best Action-Adventure.
Geoff Keighley’s TGA is now in its fifth year, quickly becoming more prevalent in the gaming community with each passing celebration. A strong contender for GOTY, Red Dead Redemption 2, rode away with four awards, the most awards earned at the event. Rockstar Games‘ magnum opus won for Best Narrative, Best Performance for Roger Clarke as Arthur Morgan, Best Music for Woody Jackson and Daniel Lanois’ score, as well as Best Audio.
Indie title Celeste won two awards for the best independent game and the Game for Impact award while Fortnite took home two for best ongoing game and best multiplayer.
