READYMADE Debuts Gargantuan Down-Filled Frogman Figure
Almost five-and-a-half feet tall.
Japanese retailer FREAKS STORE tapped industry vet Poggy to curate a pop-up store centered around heritage outerwear label First Down, best known for creating bubble jackets beloved by mid-naughties hip-hop stars. Following Poggy’s bespoke take on the brand’s signature layering piece, the pop-up upcycles vintage First Down gear, elevating the down-filled coats and jackets with paint, embroidery and cut-and-sew.
READYMADE offers an imposing, yet playful, contribution to the event with this huge Frogman figure. Retaining the usual vintage military fabric for the head, hands, and feet, the collectible now boasts a colorful body crafted from First Down’s signature nylon shell. The creation differs from past Frogman figures in its size: the black, yellow, and red-striped character stands a mighty five feet and five inches tall.
Currently, the one-off creation is only available at FREAKS STORE Open Studio Annex, where the First Down pop-up is going down.
