Custom Air Jordan 1 Evokes the Art of Matcha
Sneaker customizer Chase Shiel teams up with photographer Ryustyler.
Photographer @Ryustyler has been pairing sneakers with food for a color-filled series on Instagram dubbed #DeliciousKicks. Now, the shutterbug takes his skills to the next level by teaming up with sneaker customizer Chase Shiel. The duo unveils a bespoke Air Jordan 1 inspired by the matcha used in traditional Japanese tea ceremonies. Mimicking the process of using only the finest ingredients, the bespoke footwear is crafted using four premium leathers, including custom-dyed nubuck and velvety pig suede — all in a tonal green hues resembling the tea.
Additional details include a leather-lined interior, custom tongue tabs, cream-colored laces with gold aglets and laser-engraved dubraes. Along the heels, Italian-woven cotton tabs and a subtle embossed stamp help elevate the overall look.
