With his team making huge strides in the fashion world with his eponymous line and ongoing work with adidas under Y-3, Yohji Yamamoto is now venturing into a new atmosphere of product — perfume. The appropriately named ‘Yohji’ range has been revealed, coming in with six different scents that, according to the brand, are “ultimately honest” and encapsulate key values of the designer himself.
The half-dozen fragrances are meant to be items that speak for themselves both via impact and with their own clear messages. Mode-Zero is a celebration of personality that “adds nothing extra” but rather accents your current look; Deconstruction, on the other hand, is made to attract attention, much like the disturbing looks added with loud sneakers, oversized sunglasses and brightly-decorated accessories. Darkness is meant to be an olfactive interpretation of the color black, albeit with a glow-in-the-dark bottle; and Paradox was developed as a protective cover for the female body and is tunable — one spray is meant to tease while more is meant to unveil your true color. All six come with their own specific bottle and inner message, packaged inside a minimalistic resin block box.
Each ‘Yohji’ scent is shoppable now for €210 EUR (approx. $240 USD). Visit the official Yohji Yamamoto Parfums website for more details, and discover our 15 Favorite Boots this Winter which include the Yohji Yamamoto x Dr. Martens FW18 Combat boot.
