Watch the First Trailer for Disney's New 'Star Wars Galaxy of Adventures' Animated Shorts Series
Aimed at attracting a new generation of ‘Star Wars’ fans.
Disney has announced plans to release remakes of the Star Wars films as a series of animated YouTube shorts. Titled Star Wars Galaxy of Adventures, the series will feature original dialogue and sounds from the films as well as new animations and educational notes to explain the long-running franchise to a new audience.
The series will be released on the newly-launched Star Wars Kids website and YouTube channel, reflecting Disney’s intention to use this medium to bring in a new generation of Star Wars fans. Announcing the series, James Waugh, VP of franchise content and strategy at Lucasfilm, told StarWars.com that he has “had so many friends who are parents tell me how much they wanted to introduce their kids to Star Wars but didn’t feel that their kids were quite ready for the movies yet.” This new series is aimed at filling that gap. The first six shorts will be available to stream from November 30. Until then, you can watch the trailer above.
In other entertainment news, Netflix has a live action Cowboy Bebop series in the works.
