The Weeknd, Drake, Justin Bieber & More Win at the 2016 MTV EMAs

[gallery columns="3"]The 2016 MTV EMAs, aka the MTV Europe Music Awards, was held at the Ahoy Rotterdam in Rotterdam, Netherlands on November 6. Hosted by Bebe Rexha, it was the third time the awards took place in the country and second time in Rotterdam. Canadian artists dominated the night, which saw big wins for Justin Bieber, Shawn Mendes, Drake and The Weeknd. Bieber took home prizes for biggest fans, best Canadian act and best song for “Sorry.” Drake won best hip-hop while The Weeknd was rewarded the best video prize for “Starboy” featuring Daft Punk. Beyoncé, who led the nominations alongside Bieber, did not win in any of her five categories. Out of the aforementioned artists, only The Weeknd flew to Europe and was present at the award show.
