Watch Aminé's Wavey 'Tiny Desk Concert' on NPR
Representing Portland.
Following the success of his star-studded debut album, Good For You, it’s no surprise to see Aminé has made his way onto NPR’s Tiny Desk Concert series. 2017 has been a big year for the young rapper from Portland, Oregon, who has ridden the wave of his 2016 mega-hit single “Caroline” all the way to his debut album, new single “Squeeze,” and now a concert behind a desk in D.C. NPR has had a slew of top performers on its hit video series this year and Aminé’s set put him right up there with some of the best.
The set itself sees Aminé kick things off with a clever stop-start mashup of “Spice Girl” and hit single “Caroline,” while supported by a four-piece band and backup singer. He then follows up with a smooth rendition of “Slide” before rounding things off with the catchy “Wedding Crashers” track, the studio version of which features Offset.
You can watch Aminé’s entire set in the video above and don’t forget to let us know how you think it stacks up with other recent Tiny Desk Concerts.
