The Vans Authentic & SK8-HI Gets Oversized "OTW" Patches
Unmistakable skateboard imagery.
Vans has toyed with oversized branding several times in the past year, though this new take on the style may be the most understated take yet. A pair of Authentics and SK8-His sport oversized “OFF THE WALL” patches, with wildly different results.
The Authentics reimagine the classic Vans skateboard logo into an all-over print, with a red and black colorway both offering layered prints atop the canvas upper, contrasted with a conventional white midsole and laces. Meanwhile, the SK8-HIs come in bold yellow/blue or low-key black/white iterations, with solid-toned suede on the toe, tongue and heel and the brand’s iconic checkerboard towards the rear. Above the checkerboard, each shoe offers a three-dimensional, oversized skateboard logo, partially obscured by the leather Jazz Stripe.
