Roy Woods Sees the Talent in Toronto's New Generation of Artists
He also discusses NFL Running Back Le’Veon Bell and his personal evolution.
For the latest entry in our Conversations With interview series, HYPEBEAST linked up with Roy Woods to discuss his evolution as an artist, NFL All-Pro Le’Veon Bell’s holdout from the Pittsburg Steelers and the wealth of talent within the new generation of artists in Toronto.
“Being a part of this generation of music in Toronto is so bless because my city needs it,” he says. “They [have] been waiting so long to see something when it comes to music or art, some opportunity and now we got it, and so much people are doing what they want to do.”
It’s been almost a year since Roy Woods released his sophomore full-length studio album, Say Less. Before that, the OVO Sound signee has dropped two EPs, EXIS and Nocturnal, and a debut album titled Waking At Down. Guest features on the 16-song LP include PARTYNEXTDOOR (on “Back It Up”), dvsn and PnB Rock (on “Balance) and 24Hrs (“Take Time”).
