N.HOOLYWOOD Debuted Everything & the Kitchen Sink for Summer 2019
Everything from hardcore punk to tie-dye to Garfield.

N.HOOLYWOOD returned to Japan after several New York runway presentations, showcasing an assortment of maximalist layering pieces and accessories. Heavy on layers and bold colors, the Summer 2019 collection fulfilled the over-the-top potential introduced by N.HOOLYWOOD’s controversial Fall/Winter 2017 show.
Along with the collaborative Converse Addict sneakers, Daisuke Obana’s label showcased more collaborative Umbro gear and a host of repurposed vintage gear; this ran the gamut from a Garfield tee to a The Exorcist has to an oversized hoodie sporting patches from Californian hardcore punk band Capitalist Casualties. Logos from Amazon (the Tokyo Fashion Week hosts) and upscale outlet store Century 21 were emblazoned on boxy T-shirts and sweaters, with chaotic embroidery complementing the disparate outerwear, which included army green bomber jackets, tie-dyed coats, draping pajama pants and leather jackets sporting patches of M&M characters and racecar sponsors alike.
Though the presentation may have looked chaotic, Obana knows his audience; N.HOOLYWOOD fans pick and choose their preferred items of the season, many of which will hit Amazon’s site shortly for a true see-now-buy-now experience.
Eagle-eyed observers may note that this collection further developed upon concepts initiated by N.HOOLYWOOD’s Spring 2019 collection.
