Classic 'Pokémon' Characters to Appear on 'Pokémon GO' for First Time
Featuring Pokémon from the Sinnoh region.
After the arrival of the mythical Meltan last month, Pokémon GO is set to feature a whole host of new characters. A new update will see monsters from the Sinnoh region — which featured in the three classic Pokémon games, including Pokémon Pearl and Diamond from 2006 and 2008’s Pokémon Platinum – added to the game.
Announcing the news, Niantic revealed that the new characters would be making their way to Pokémon GO in waves, and would include starters Turtwig, Chimchar, and Piplup. The statement also revealed that the new monsters would be “appearing in the wild, hatching from eggs and battling in raids” over the next few weeks.” Keep an eye out for the Sinnoh region Pokémon to arrive in the near future.
In other entertainment news, a new SEGA retro console is on the way.
