Following the news that the NBA was removing all footwear color restrictions for the new season, sneaker resale platform GOAT has announced a partnership with LA Lakers’ Kyle Kuzma. The deal will see Kuzma represent GOAT both on and off court by wearing rare and hyped Nike sneakers provided by GOAT (Kuzma is still signed to Nike through 2019).
Announcing the news, Kuzma explained his relationship with GOAT: “GOAT has inspired me to start collecting more seriously and build my style around sneakers. People assume that, as an NBA athlete, you can get access to any kind of sneaker you want. When in reality, it’s hard to get the exclusive releases or shoes from the past, and feel confident they’re authentic. GOAT gives me a second chance at not only the limited releases I missed, but also the shoes I wasn’t able to afford growing up.”
Also following the rule change, player-designed colorways have been added to the NIKEiD roster.
