Artist Mindflyer and Coach Debut Singapore-Exclusive C118 Sneaker
The first of five artist renditions.
Coach has linked up with Singaporean artist Michael Ng aka Mindflyer to produce a limited edition of its C118 sneaker. The first of a run of five collaborative renditions of the silhouette, Mindflyer’s sneaker mirrors his approach to art — drawing from concepts related to flight and escapism. Using a mix of aeronautical forms and references to Antoine de Saint-Exupery’s “The Little Prince,” the artist overlaid the classic Coach monogrammed canvas base of the sneaker with hits of blue, yellow, red and pink. The result is a vibrant statement piece which merges signature Coach elements with the unexpected.
The sneaker will launch in Coach retail stores in October for $425 SGD (approximately $308.23 US). Following the collaboration with Mindflyer, the series of footwear reinterpretations will move on to artists from China, USA and Japan — so stay tuned for more information.
