New Balance’s 998 Set to Drop in Premium Purple Suede
A luxurious take on the classic runner.
After recently unveiling a special “Winter Peaks” edition of its Made in USA 998 model, New Balance is preparing to release a luxe variation of its classic silhouette. Premium purple suede swarms much of the upper, with rubber accents clad in black — hitting the vamp, collar, heel and tongue — breaking up the monotone color scheme. The familiar “N” logo landing on the side area, along with the brand’s signature ABZORB midsole technology sitting directly beneath round out the look and tie the design together.
The new version of the New Balance 998 will make its debut online and select NB carriers as of January 15. In other sneaker news, Nike’s Air Max 270 Surfaces in a “Light Bone/Hot Punch” colorway.
