maharishi Celebrates Chinese New Year With Limited Edition Jacket
Coming with a plea for peace.
With Gucci having revealed its Year of the Dog capsule last week, London-based label maharishi has now also unveiled its own celebratory Chinese New Year piece. The Year of the Dog tour jacket comes in Moon Melton wool, and features gold embroidery on the chest and back.
The front embroidery references maharishi’s ongoing theme of East meets West, with a British Bulldog sitting alongside a Chinese Lion Dog. The jacket’s reverse focuses on the idea of pacifism, with a reworking of a Winston Churchill quote and a plea for “peace in the east, love in the west.”
The Year of the Dog jacket is set to drop in very limited numbers of February 2, with the piece available exclusively from maharishi. For more fashion, read a new interview with British designer Craig Green.
