Lewis Hamilton Talks Jerry Lorenzo & Working With PUMA on 'Sneaker Shopping'
Formula One’s most fashionable star.
Four-time Formula One World Champion Lewis Hamilton has earned a reputation as one of modern racing’s best-dressed stars, so it’s fitting that he’s the latest celebrity to be featured on Complex‘s Sneaker Shopping series.
Alongside show host Joe La Puma, Hamilton journeys to Los Angeles retailer Bait for a discussion of his favorite sneakers, his own fashion sense, childhood interests and more. Most notably, the Formula 1 professional opens up about his forthcoming signature sneaker with PUMA. “It’s been a dream to work with a brand like PUMA, particularly to start a journey with them where they’re coming out with great, great creations,” Hamilton says. “You had Clydes back in the day, that will always be a historic kick, but the new ones they’re coming out with are the future.”
Besides dropping over $500 USD on four separate pairs of PUMA shoes, Hamilton also reveals how Jerry Lorenzo influences the way he dresses. “I love that he sticks to his craft and he’s been working so hard,” Hamilton shares. “He’s been really helpful. I’ve met him a few times at fashion week shows and at New York Fashion Week, hanging out. I like to get in the mind of the designer. I’m a racing driver. I’ve learned my craft better than anyone else. But also to view and witness and understand what they’re thinking.”
