DIY Expert Converted an Xbox One X Into a Laptop
And he can modify your console as well, for a price.
Hacker, creative, and DIY master Eddie Zarick has introduced his latest creation: the Xbook One X. A laptop made from a converted Xbox One X, the Xbook One X can be made to order, but it will cost you.
Zarick’s creation is essentially a semi-portable Xbox One X with a built-in 1080p ViewSonic panel replacing the need for a TV. The Xbox One X’s cooling units and external ports are intact, except for one USB port used to power the optional keyboard. Due to the immense amount of power needed to run the console, it doesn’t allow for batteries and must be plugged into a power outlet to work, and it’s not nearly as light as top-of-the-line laptops. Still, interested parties can request a custom build from Zarick, which includes the cost of an Xbox One X and a three week build time.
Check out Zarick’s other inventions and order an Xbook One X from his site, with prices for the custom laptop starting at $2,645 USD. In other gaming news, video game addiction will soon be considered a mental health disorder.
