Brian Imanuel, who saw unprecedented success under his rapper alterego Rich Chigga, has decided to leave the moniker in 2017 and start fresh for 2018 as simply Brian. The Indonesian artist announced earlier today of the official change along with a reveal of his latest single “See Me.”

The track is a ballad of sorts loosely representing Brian’s 2017 year, one filled with hope for continued success (“Runnin’ for the front, I feel like Usain in this bitch / Passin’ all these runners number 1 is in my list”). Brian came to realization that his previous name was naive and a mistake, as he reveals in his IG caption:

Yes I now go by “Brian”. I have been planning to do this forever and I’m so happy to finally do it. I was naive & I made a mistake. new year, new beginning, happy new years

Are you looking forward to a new Brian Imanuel? Listen to the track above and stay tuned for his debut album Amen to land on February 2.
