Gosha Rubchinskiy Unveils Capsule Collection With Russian Band Mumiy Troll
To celebrate the 20th anniversary of the group’s most famous album.

With his all-black adidas Copa silhouette already in stores, designer Gosha Rubchinskiy has now revealed a capsule collection in collaboration with Mumiy Troll, a Russian pop-group formed in the city of Vladivostock back in 1983. The band was important to Ruchinskiy himself, with his youth in the ’90s soundtracked by Mumiy Troll’s music. Last month officially marked 20 years since the band’s cult album Morskaya (which translates as “Nautical”) first dropped, and — with this in mind — Rubchinskiy has worked on a capsule collection to celebrate the anniversary.
The collection features an oversized crewneck sweatshirt and two T-shirts, which are co-branded with Gosha Rubchinskiy x Mumiy Troll, as well as continuing the nautical theme with a customised surfboard that is on display at Dover Street Market in London. To launch the drop, Rubchinskiy headed east to Vladivostock and shot local kids alongside the children of Mumiy Troll frontman Ilya Lagutenko.
The capsule is set to drop on September 15 at Dover Street Market stores in London, New York, Ginza and Singapore, as well as COMME des GARÇONS‘ Paris Trading Museum and Seoul flagship. Prices for the collection range from £38 GBP (approx. $50 USD) to £86 GBP (approx. $114 USD).
As well as revealing his latest collaboration, Gosha Rubchinskiy has also recently been named as one of Business of Fashion’s 500 most influential people in the fashion industry.
