Notre Celebrates the Nike Air Max 97 in Latest Editorial
Showcasing the genius creation of Christian Tresser, designer of the silhouette.

Back then, the Air Max 97s design was considered merely a radical combination of curved lines and reflective colors — anchored by a massive Air bubble sole. As the silhouette turns 20 this year, the style has become one of the most reminisced Nike shoes. Making its debut in the fall of 1997, it was quickly superseded by the Air Max 98, however, the former was a special model as it was the first silhouette to feature a seamless upper lining and a full-length Air unit. From its inception to the strange forms it took throughout the years, the silhouette has had an interesting couple of decades so far and has come out in an abundance of colorways. With a box price of $150 USD back in 1997, this sneaker was slightly more expensive than the AM 95s or AM 96s.
