Nike SB Reveals Exclusive Zoom Blazer Mid Lance Mountain for Friends & Family
A super-limited edition shoe for the legendary skater.

After releasing the Blazer Mid XT in “Circuit Orange,” Nike SB has dropped a new technicolor iteration of the closely-related Zoom Blazer Mid for legendary Nike skater Lance Mountain. The latest colorway is a friends and family exclusive, and features an upper inspired by ’70s era prism-fade concert posters. Mountain explained the bold design choice: “the colorway — the rock poster fade — is connected to a look that has been tied to me for some time. I have used it on my board graphics, for example, throughout my career.”
Other design features include a tile-like effect on the heel, which references Mountain’s history of pool skating, and the numbers ‘78’ on the left shoe and ‘17’ on the right. The first number is a nod to the year that the skater first recalls the Blazer silhouette being a regular feature in skate magazines, while the second represents the year of this colorways release. As these are a strictly F+F pair, don’t expect them to get a wider release at any point in the near future, but if you want something similar you can get the Blazer Mid “78-17” which were recently unveiled.
