M.I.A. Debuts Merch Collaboration With Astrid Andersen
Combining function, sport, simplicity, and futurism.
M.I.A. — who released her latest album AIM in September of last year along with preparing for a world tour this fall — approached young Danish designer Astrid Andersen when she decided that it was time for her to get into the merch game. Revolving around the theme of athletic hip-hop and basketball, the lookbook depicts pieces including orange and all-black anoraks, tees, trackpants. Highlighted in the range is an anorak which is made from 100% recycled plastic in partnership with Parley for the Oceans, an organization best known for working with adidas.
Check out the lookbook from M.I.A.’s collection, which will be available for purchase starting from August 9 at Astrid Andersen’s flagship store in Copenhagen and via Ohmni, M.I.A.’s online store, with pieces ranging from $70 USD to $160 USD.
