Netflix has just dropped a trailer for its latest documentary series Fire Chasers, revealing how California’s wildfire epidemic has become increasingly common and severe. The series comes from the makers of Deadliest Catch and it follows the men and women putting their lives on the line to battle these wildfires daily.
It also delves into climate change, altered vegetation patterns, droughts, and its devastating effect on the landscape. The show will also showcase candid, emotional testimonies from firefighters and fire victims alike. 6,986 fires across 564,835 acres in California transpired last year alone, exemplifying the severity of the issue. Catch Fire Starters streaming on Netflix September 8.
In an effort to expand its original content, Netflix will spend $7 billion USD next year.
