TDE Talent Lance Skiiiwalker's "Where To With You" Video Will Trip You Out

“I’m very introverted and wanted to make a song about how introverted I am.”

Back in 2015, up-and-coming TDE talent Lance Skiiiwalker made a powerful introduction by appearing on Jay Rock’s sophomore studio album 90059. With a show-stealing presence on the Watts rapper’s 90059 album cut “Telegram (Going Krazy),” Skiiiwalker exercised his unorthodox, forward-thinking flows and artistic versatility. Fast forward to 2016, releases such as an impressive collaboration with ScHoolboy Q — “Toaster” and its accompanying animated visual — and a genre-bending debut album known as Introverted Intuition helped cement Lance Skiiiwalker as one of the most unique west coast artists currently on a major label.

After several months of silence on the musical front, Lance Skiiiwalker is back with a vibrant new video and single. Following up last year’s string of drops, the TDE jack-of-all-trades resurfaces with a soul-searching, psychedelic number titled “Where To With You.” Describing today’s effort, Skiiiwalker explained to Pigeons & Planes that he wanted to create a track that showcased his incredibly introverted personality — the title of his first LP makes a lot of sense now —  and pen a lyrical love letter to his favorite mild-altering substance: weed. Directing attention to his new song’s visual component, Skiiiwalker shares the following regarding his Shawn Johnson-directed vignette:

“A good friend and colleague of mine directed the video he’s very new to the scene but very creative and great at what he does as well … We were out in LA together and he decided he wanted to take some head shots of me with the camera. That same day he took everything back to his laptop and created an amazing story all from his brain.”

You can check out Lance Skiiiwalker’s new video and song above, and stay tuned for more.

Skiiiwalker is far from the only TDE artist to be in the headlines this month. At present time, his label’s more famous affiliate is currently dominating the music market and Billboard charts.
