Following the release of its teaser last month, HBO drops the official trailer for its impending series, The Deuce. Created by The Wired’s David Simon and George Pelecanos, the saga harks back to a smuttier era in New York City, chronicling its rising porn industry during the ’70s along with the rampant violence, drug abuse and HIV outbreaks that ensued. Leading the show’s cast are James Franco, who will play twin brothers Frankie and Vincent Martino, and Maggie Gyllenhaal, who flaunts a more risqué side as a sex worker named Eileen “Candy” Merrell. The supporting cast includes Gary Carr, Margarita Levieva, Emily Meade, Method Man and more.

Check out the official trailer above and look for The Deuce’s premiere on September 10.
