Astronauts Are Testing Reebok's New Space Boot Right Now
“The first evolution in space footwear in over 50 years.”
Reebok has partnered with David Clark Company to produce an innovative pair of lightweight boots built for galactic travel. The Reebok Floatride Space Boot SB-01 is currently undergoing tests by astronauts and it’s touted as “the first evolution in space footwear in over 50 years,” said the brand in a statement. Having added that the blue gradient boot was specifically made for “the final space suit which will shuttle astronauts to and from the International Space Station in Boeing’s new vessel, the CST-100 Starliner.”
The same technology that was used to create these boots is found on the athletic label’s advanced running shoe dubbed the Floatride Run which made its debut this past April. Additionally, Reebok is slated to release its all-new Floatride 100g Racer which boasts a feather-lite midsole, a mesh upper, and a durable outsole. The Racer will officially launch sometime in 2018.
