New Balance has unveiled a premium suede and mesh upgrade of its hybrid 991.5 silhouettes, along with two new colorways of the shoe. The sneaker is made from elements of two classic shapes with the upper from a 991 sitting on top of a 1500‘s sole — it first appeared in 2016’s Made in UK “Yard” and “Surplus” packs.
The new drop sees one sneaker come in a black, purple, blue and gold colorway, while the other features a lighter color palette of grey, teal, emerald, and gold. Both colorways are made in New Balance’s UK factory in Flimby, and come with a suede and mesh upper and the brand’s ‘ENCAP’ midsole technology for durability. The latest 991.5 pack will set you back £170 GBP (roughly $220 USD) and is available now at select retailers as well as New Balance’s web store.
As well as dropping new versions of the 991.5, New Balance has also added three new colorways of its 1978 silhouette.
