Watch Michel Gondry's Moving iPhone Film 'Détour'
Shot exclusively on an iPhone 7.
Apple UK has released a short film shot by French indie filmmaker Michel Gondry. The movie is called Détour and was shot entirely on an iPhone 7. Détour is inspired by works done by Jaques Tati and Albert Lamorisse. As a family embarks on a vacation, a young girl’s tricycle gets lost during the road trip. A series of odd events take place as the tricycle sets off on its own journey along French roads. Though the tricycle searches for its original owner, it ultimately finds a new suitor.
Those interested in learning exactly how Gondry shot the film on his iPhone can visit Apple’s UK site where the director explains how he used time lapse, stop motion, slo-mo, and more to create the eleven-minute movie. Check out Détour above.
