Converse Commemorates the All Star's 100th Birthday With Alber Elbaz-Guided 2017 "Avant" Collection
Form the Lanvin runway to the streets.

To commemorate the 100th birthday of the iconic Converse All Star shoe, the 1917-born classic will be receiving a luxury renovation courtesy of famous designer Alber Elbaz — whose name was synonymous with Lanvin from 2001 to 2015 — and Converse. Elbaz and Converse’s “Avant” collection will feature seven opulent iterations of the timeless All Star; each new item boasts high-end materials and construction as well. From simple, clean black and white colorways to bold, boisterous prints and speckled designs, each sneaker in the new “Avant” line is designed to catch onlookers’ gazes and demand a spot in every enthusiasts’ closet and wardrobe.
You can check out some shots of Alber Elbaz and Converse’s 100th anniversary “Avant” Collection All Stars above, while the shoes themselves will hit the market on September 25. Last month, Converse linked up with GORE-TEX to add another striking product to its most well-known product’s centennial celebration.
