Jerry Lorenzo and More Expose Tupac's Rockstar Fashion Sense
The group dissects the perfected style in his upcoming biopic ‘All Eyez On Me.’
Tupac Shakur was an undeniable icon with his influence spanning hip-hop, Hollywood, technology, art and fashion. The All Eyez on Me biopic, slated for a June 15 debut, looks to capture all of his essence in 140 minutes. Portraying Pac’s brash style was crucial to the creators of the film, who strived for the utmost authenticity. Costume design was led by the veteran Francine Jamison-Tanchuck, who worked on The Birth of a Nation, Get Rich or Die Tryin’, Hardball, Glory, and many other major movies. Demetrius Shipp Jr. was cast as Tupac and is tasked with bringing the legendary rapper to life.
In support of the highly anticipated All Eyez on Me biopic, a few fashion luminaries sat down to discuss Pac’s impact in the fashion realm. Karl Kani, April Walker of Walker Wear, Jerry Lorenzo of Fear of God, Carl Jones and T.J. Walker of Cross Colours, and men’s fashion influencer Allen Onyia of Upscale Hype are featured in the roundtable dialogue.
