Watch the Trailer for the Live-Action 'JoJo's Bizarre Adventure' Film Directed by Takashi Miike
The film covers the “Diamond Is Unbreakable” storyline.
Takashi Miike, director of the cult classic horror film Audition, is behind the camera for the first live-action adaptation of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, and the trailer shows off Stands for the first time. Family bloodlines and high-end fashion aside, JoJo centers around psychic projections called Stands that are used in battle, particularly during the third part of the manga and anime onwards.
The first trailer left fans worried that Stands, a central part of the lore, would be missing from this live-adaptation. However, this new trailer reassures hesitant loyals by showing them off, and the special effects used to portray them aren’t too shabby either.
The film is an adaptation of the series’ fourth installment of the manga and anime called “Diamond Is Unbreakable” and features Kento Yamazaki as high schooler Josuke Higashikata, who along with his friends are granted the ability to use Stands, which thrusts them into (you guessed it) a bizarre adventure. The film is set to release on August 4th, 2017.
