New York sneaker retailer Extra Butter is paying tribute to its hometown by releasing a special edition PUMA Clyde sneaker in two velvet colorways. Drawing inspiration from NYC’s various b-boy, basketball, hip-hop and street cultures, the “Kings of New York” Clyde sees a crushed velvet upper, wide-set velvet laces, leather detailing at the tongue tab, heel tab and side stipe, a classic white midsole and an icy outsole revealing “EXTRA” and “BUTTER” on each shoe. The two colorways — a rich burgundy shade and a luxe royal blue hue — will drop alongside an apparel capsule of T-shirts and accessories.

The Extra Butter x PUMA Clyde “Kings of New York” pack will drop in limited quantities on July 8 at a launch party/b-boy competition at (Le) Poisson Rouge in the West Village.
