Willy Chavarria 2017 Spring/Summer Collection's Bizarre Video Lookbook Is Politically Driven
Nothing is certain.
Never afraid of making bold political statements through his work, Willy Chavarria is once again confronting civil discord head-on in a new video for his self-titled line’s Spring/Summer 2017 collection. Having both previously paid homage to the Brown Power movement of the ’60s and taken inspiration from the prisonwear of the Pachucos, for this latest campaign Chavarria turns his eye to the state of political turmoil in the present day United States.
Teaming up with videographers Michael Cho and Mario Nicholas Torres, the film uses a dizzying sense of constant movement to produce a feeling of instability, with rapid cuts and visual layering reflecting the idea that nothing in our current political climate is certain.
