A Third 'SpongeBob SquarePants' Movie Is on the Way
A no-brainer since the first two films were a success in terms of ticket sales.
A third movie installment of the SpongeBob SquarePants franchise has just been announced. According to The Hollywood Reporter, president of Viacom’s Nickelodeon Group, Cyma Zarghami stated during the company’s earnings conference call that a new SpongeBob SquarePants film will, in fact, be on the way. The title will be distributed by Viacom subsidiary Paramount Pictures.
The upcoming movie should bring in more money for the studios as The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie in 2004 and The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water in 2015 did an impressive $140,161,792 and $325,186,032 USD in global ticket sales respectively. No more information has yet been divulged for the new third flick except that it has a tentative August 2, 2019, release date. Stay tuned with us as we get more information soon.
