'Guardians of the Galaxy' Causes Cassette Player Prices to Rise on eBay
The Star-Lord’s go-to device.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe has another hit on its hands with the ragtag team of intergalactic do-gooders in Guardians of the Galaxy. Even the franchise’s official merchandise, such as the Doritos bag that plays the soundtrack, can be found on eBay selling for a couple of hundreds of dollars. Since the release of the films, GotG has also caused a price increase in an older form of technology, the Sony Walkman TPS-L2. Making its debut in Japan in 1979, the Sony TPS-L2 — the Star-Lord’s favorite entertainment device — marked the first portable personal cassette player that was ever released at the time. Now thanks to fan interest on the TPS-L2, you can head to eBay to purchase for approximately $200 USD.
And if you’ve missed it, watch the cast of Guardians of the Galaxy audition for Avengers.
