Situated right in the center of Manila, Nike has constructed “the world’s first full-size LED running track.” Taking over an entire city block, Nike’s 200-meter-long Unlimited Stadium is derived from the footprint of Nike’s LunarEpic running shoe. Formed into a figure-eight and lined with LED screens, up to 30 runners can partake in a virtual race against themselves. After setting an initial lap time — a sensor is attached to each athlete’s shoe — they can then compete with their avatar running alongside them on the continuous LED screen, essentially challenging them to beat their best. Crated by BBH Singapore, who conceptualized the overall project in collaboration with a team of partners, make sure to check it out if you are in the city.
Nike also recently introduced the Vaporfly Elite, which can only be won.
