The Skateroom Teams up With Ai Weiwei and Shepard Fairey on Two Limited Edition Skate Deck Sets
The collection coincides with Donald Trump’s 100th day in office.

The Skateroom has worked with Chinese artist and activist Ai Weiwei and LA-based street artist, graphic designer and activist Shepard Fairey to mark the 100th day of Donald Trump’s presidency. The result of the collaboration is two sets of politically-charged skate decks. For its work with Ai Weiwei, The Skateroom has reworked his Study of Perspective: The White House artwork, part of a series of images shot between 1995 and 2003, to cover a set of three decks. Shepard Fairey’s decks are an adaptation of his No Future work, which denounces hate-speech and propaganda. The Ai Weiwei edition is limited to a run of 666 hand screen-printed Canadian maple skateboards, with the first 66 sets of three being hand signed by the artist and priced at $3,000 USD. For a set of the Shepard Fairey decks, each of the 450 editions costs $450 USD, and both sets are available now from The Skateroom’s web store.
As well as collaborating with Ai Weiwei and Shepard Fairey, The Skateroom recently released a set of decks featuring a classic Andy Warhol artwork.
