We now have a closer look at the “1987” collection presented by Fear of God following its initial revealing. Admitting that despite being from Los Angeles he loved the Boston Celtics’ uniforms, Jerry Lorenzo placed his own spin on the C’s traditional green-based uniforms with a high quality Fear of God twist. The offering celebrates the NBA Finals during 1987 as the Lakers defeated the Celtics.
The offering includes drop-crotch basketball shorts, athletic socks, an everyday hoodie with varsity inspiration, an oversized jersey, a silk-lined track jacket, drawstring track pants, a half-zip satin coaches jacket, and a twist to the 1987 Boston Celtics merch T-shirt.
To close out the offering, Fear of God’s Basketball Sneaker silhouette will launch in limited quantities ahead of its expected global launch. Retailing at $995 USD, it gains its inspiration from the footwear worn by the Boston Celtics during 1987’s NBA Finals.
You can expect the “1987” collection to launch via a pop-up location based in Bologna, Italy at Back Door Bottega on April 22.
