"KAWS: A VR Experience" Gets Nominated for a Webby Award
Under the “Film & Video” category.
This past February, KAWS — alongside creative studios Visionaire and Optimist (OD) — presented a virtual reality experience at the New York Public Library. The collaborative project was an homage to M&M’s 75th anniversary and offered gallery-goers a 360-degree tour of the artist’s studio coupled with trippy effects showcasing KAWS’ BFF and Accomplice characters. Now, the trio is honored with a Webby Award nomination for the project under the “Film & Video/ VR: Cinematic or Pre-Rendered” category.
