Netflix to Reboot 'Carmen Sandiego'
Gina Rodriguez will voice the trench coat-clad star in twenty animated episodes.
Just where on Earth is Carmen Sandiego? We may soon find out as Netflix is set to follow up its take on The Magic School Bus with its own Carmen Sandiego reboot. According to Engadget, the reboot will ditch the live-action game show premise of the original and instead skew more towards FOX’s animated Where on Earth Is Carmen Sandiego?, which — like The Magic School Bus — was more of a kid-centric “edutainment” program and ran from 1994 through 1999.
It remains unknown when a premiere can be expected, though Netflix is slated to air 20 episodes of the show with Gina Rodriguez (Jane the Virgin) voicing the trench coat-clad Sandiego.
