From Supreme‘s Box Logo to adidas‘s Three Stripes, logos are an instantaneous connection to a certain brand and aesthetic. In one quick glance at a logo, our brains are able to connect and recollect instantly. Over time, certain brands and their respective logo start to garner more authenticity and desirability. Taking it one step further is photographer Polly Brown. In her latest series titled FASHION, Brown creates her own versions of coveted articles of clothing using nothing but a Sharpie pen and Tipex. Brown sets out to answer the question of “what happens if you recreate those symbols yourselves, what exactly is it that we covet?” Take a look at Brown’s project above.
