This Polaroid Editorial Showcases Eccentrically-Styled Raf Simons x Robert Mapplethorpe Pieces

A few months ago, Raf Simons released a capsule collection inspired by the late American photographer Robert Mapplethorpe. Today, Union Los Angeles unveils a polaroid editorial titled “HANDLE WITH CARE” that highlights the aforementioned capsule. The tribute collection features pullovers, button-ups and T-shirts with some of Mapplethorpe’s most well-known images printed on them. The NYC-born photographer was known for his sensitive and candid renderings of taboo themes during the ’60s-’80s. Photographs featured in Raf Simons’s collection include Mapplethorpe’s iconic “Ermes” photograph, his self-portrait, as well as profiles of Patti Smith and David Byrne.
