Justin Bieber turned 23 yesterday and instead of going out to celebrate, he opted for a night alone in a dark studio to make beats. Last night, the pop star took to Instagram to post short clips of himself “Making beats in my studio.” After a few seconds in, it appears he’s experimenting with some new sounds — like a Phil Collins meets Caribbean bongos vibe of some sort. He’s also got a portrait of himself on the mantle above the protools rig. Needless to say, the beat came out pretty smooth. Press play to watch below.
