GR8 at Laforet Harajuku Receives a Japanese Garden-Inspired Renovation
A touch of tradition for the cutting edge select shop.

Among the shopping chaos of Tokyo’s Harajuku district, select shop GR8 stands out as a go-to location for up and coming and edgy garment offerings. Located inside Laforet’s Harajuku location, the shop known for its bright neon interior recently received a renovation to celebrate its 12th anniversary. The cutting-edge space received a traditional rework as the entrance was transformed to look like a Japanese garden complete with stone lanterns, a pond and pine trees. A vertical wood frame reminiscent of structures from Japan’s past with the “GR8” logo was installed on the entrance of the shop. Additionally, the multi-monitor interior of the store has received a chic revamp complete with bonsais and ornamental plants.
To celebrate the store’s renovation and ramp up to GR8’s full opening at the end of March the select shop will be hosting a series of pop-ups with brands like Reebok Classic, G-STAR, D.TT.K, Marcelo Burlon and A-COLD-WALL*, which you can keep up with here. GR8 is currently hosting a FENTY PUMA by Rihanna pop-up hosted by artist and fashion figure Mademoiselle Yulia.
