Ed Sheeran Beats Migos, Future & Big Sean for Biggest Album Debut of 2017
‘÷’ (Divide) has the biggest opening week since J. Cole’s ‘4 Your Eyez Only.’

Ed Sheeran‘s third studio album ÷ (Divide) has climbed to the top of the Billboard 200 chart. The project debuted at no. 1 this week, bringing in 451,000 equivalent album units, with 322,000 of being traditional album sales. It’s biggest opening week for an album since week since J. Cole dropped 4 Your Eyez Only in December of 2016 (which moved a whopping 511,000 units). In comparison, Future‘s self-titled album sold 144,000 album equivalent units in its first week and HNDRXX moved 121,000 copies in its opening week. Migos‘ CULTURE sold 131,000 equivalent album units in the week and Big Sean‘s I Decided moved 151,000 equivalent units in its first week.
It’s been recently announced that Ed Sheeran is going to make a cameo on hit HBO drama series Game of Thrones, because he is a favorite singer of star actress Maisie Williams.
