Despite being out for less than a fortnight, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is already being hailed as one of the greatest video games ever made. The fully realized, stunningly beautiful world that Nintendo has created, combined with drastically overhauled game mechanics, has seen the flagship title of the new Nintendo Switch console selling more than 1.5 million units since its March 3 release.
To shed a bit of light on the epic undertaking behind the development of this game, Nintendo has just released a three-part documentary on its YouTube channel. Featuring interviews with developers and some early character sketches, it’s a fascinating insight into the kind of process that goes into creating a game like this.
