Examining the Blueprint of the Nike Air Force 1 Sport Luxury
Stretching outside the lines of the hardwood.

Withstanding the test of time since its birth during the 1980s, Nike’s iconic Air Force 1 silhouette has seen its fair share of iterations over the years. From materials, to eye-catching colorways and unforgettable collaborations, the model manages to successfully walk the fine line between sport and leisure whenever the situation may call.
As part of the 5 Decades Pack, the Nike Air Force 1 Sport Luxury takes its highest premium route to date. While keeping the overall aesthetic of the silhouette intact, designer Devon McKinney expressed a new way of brining the model to life by answering self-proclaimed challenges. “What if we took the AF1 and not necessarily create a new shoe, but can we look at every little detail on this shoe and make it as premium and luxury as possible?”
The end result became what many now know as the Nike Air Force 1 Sport Luxury. In addition to its Italian Vachetta tan leather uppers, 24K Rose Gold plated collar ring, dubrae, tongue badge and removable lace tips are incorporated. As you look closer into the design, you’ll find an attention-commanding stitching throughout which is inspired by the same stitching you’d see on a steering wheel. To help match its luxurious look, comfort is increased thanks to a drop-in midsole which features Lunarlon foam and Zoom Air cushioning in its heel.
The Nike Air Force 1 Sport Luxury will officially launch as a part of Nike’s “5 Decades of Basketball” Pack at KITH’s Manhattan location on February 10 and at select retailers on February 18.
