Emma Watson Sees Countless Evils of the Digital Age in 'The Circle' Second Trailer
So many real life parallels.
This past December, STX Entertainment unleashed the first promotional clip for The Circle —based on Dave Eggers’ widely acclaimed novel of the same name. Now, the modern thriller gets a second preview which centers upon the tech-savvy protagonist, Mae, played by Emma Watson. The gist? Mae gets an awesome gig at a formidable social media/tech company helmed by a zealous man named Eamon Bailey (Tom Hanks). However, she encounters countless evils of this no-privacy organization as she climbs each rung of the corporate ladder. Black Mirror vibes, to say the least.
Ultimately, with the help of an ingenious coworker (Star Wars: Force Awakens actor John Boyega), it seems as if Mae can successfully get through this unprecedented and eerie experiment after all. Watch the second trailer above and expect The Circle to launch this April 28.
