Take a Tour Inside Molsheim, the Bugatti Chiron Factory
Where dreams are made.

When the Bugatti Chiron was unveiled last year as the Veyron’s successor, it was met with great enthusiasm and excitement. Bugatti now gives us a full tour of the glossy white “Atelier” Molsheim facility in Alsace, France where production on the Chiron is in full swing. Because personalization is a top priority for the company, before a Chiron is even built, the customer sits down with a designer to configure the car to his or her specifications. The exterior has 23 color coats to choose from and eight carbon variations while the interior leather features 31 different color selections or eight Alcantara choices in addition to 30 stitching options, 18 carpet chooses and 11 belt colors. Those are just the basic options, if the buyer can think of it, Bugatti will provide it. From start to finish a Bugatti Chiron will take at least nine months to configure, build, and be delivered.
“We are building a super sports car. That is quite clear, but it is the way we do it, hand-crafting an individual product for each customer in this very special atmosphere, that makes us unique. This is ‘Haute Couture de l’Automobile’,” says Christophe Piochon, member of the Bugatti Board of Management responsible for production and logistics and the one who oversees production.
